Located in the remote part of the Aranđelovac, on the road which one does not take by accident and where mountainous Šumadija shyly shows it hills, this private residence represents shelter from busy city life and stress induced with unavoidable change of the information in the urban areas.

Adaptation of the family house have one goal – creating unique ambient, that comunicate with us and tells us that we are not in the center of the urban life, but with clear indications of the time frame it belongs. Singular space of the common area is separated with denivelation on the living area and dinning zone. Both are orientade towards inner-yard and fire-place, which is central element of the common area. Fire place, with it’s modern lines, represents place of family gathering with function that heartstone (ognjište) used to have in rural areas of Serbia. Upper etage is night zone, orienteded towards slopes of Šumadija, wineyards and woods.

Existing condition is marked with red facade brick, the presence of the brick is changed – from something that was dominante it becomes spatial accent. Usage of wood, steel and warm homogen colors, brick has fallen into second plan and become detail. Combination of the elements that are typical for rural ambients and with customazition of the same, for needs of modern life and ambinets, we managed to create space that function as unique fusion of tradition, genius loci, spirit of the present and what was found on the site.
